                  Safety Culture

           Workforce

The workforce in every business is key to success. They are the life blood of the organsiation. I have never come across any worker that deliberately wants to cause harm to themselves or others, they are often keen to please and to be productive. This can lead to accidents in organisations that do not have safety procedures. A lack of set procedures or enforced procedures can lead to corners being cut which inevitably will lead to a near miss or accident. The Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013, require the responsible person to report certain types of incidents. This can lead to action being taken if it was found that the organisation did not do what is reasonably practicable to provide a safe place of work

               Visitor's
Under the Health and Safety at                    Work Act 1974
you are also responsible for the health, safety and welfare of any visitors to your site, manageing this can be as simple as having all visitors escorted around the site and providing them with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
              Training

You are required to inform your workforce on all matters safety and this includes providing safety training either internal or external. Tool box talks are a good way of providing this at the work stations and are a limited disruption to productivity.
