Ruskin Ethos

The Ruskin Ethos is centred around Aiming High and Showing Respect.

Students are set targets, which are in the top ten percent of the country. We have outstanding teaching and support staff that provide an engaging learning environment, in which these targets become achievable.

 

Every student is treated as an individual and is supported to achieve their aspirations. We have a broad curriculum whereby students can study a range and combination of subjects from Spanish to Triple Science. Our Visual Arts and Sport specialism mean we have facilities that are first class, and with the opening of the new building, all subject areas will have leading edge environments in which to teach.

We discuss with our students on a regular basis the meaning of respect and how this attitude can be incorporated into everyday life… this expectation does not stop at the Academy gates. We take co-responsibility (with guardians) for our students even when they have left the Academy. We feel strongly that these two qualities will prepare your son or daughter to be a Global Citizen, someone who can be successful in any walk of life, someone that will shape the future and challenge the norm. Our ethos encourages confidence, resilience and a drive to succeed.
